The Travel and Tourism industry is the largest industry in the world, creating the opportunity to learn about other cultures, develop life long friendships and network for trade and business.

Our club, since joining the now dissolved Federation, achieved international recognition by being the only club in the world to host IFWTO dignatories: Faye Alexander - Chairman (2006 - 2008); Marilyn Byfield and Joan Andrews - Past Chairman; Pat Crimp, Gillian Barrington and Rhona Lannigan - Ex Atlantic Governors.

Furthermore, Travelbags won the 'Phil Bocarro Award' in 2000 and in 2003 were awarded 'Top club in the Atlantic Region'. The biggest Travelbags achievement was winning the bid to host the 2004 IFWTO Annual Convention in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Storm Rose, Past IFWTO Club Director, won the 'Pearl Shaw Award' for being the club member who had significantly promoted the IFWTO in the Atlantic Region.

The members of Travelbags have helped put South Africa on the map where the many affiliated travel industry clubs of IFWTO were concerned, and what better way to connect, market South Africa and network than from one travel professional to another?
